18-Wheeler Truck Crash Crash in Lambingan Bridge After Slipping into the Hole

An 18-wheeler truck crash after slipping into the hole in Lambingan Bridge in Sta. Ana, Manila, westbound of the bridge temporarily closed.

The westbound lane of Lambingan Bridge in Sta. Ana, Manila was temporarily closed to motorists after an 18-wheeler truck slipped on the said bridge Wednesday night. The back of the truck slipped into the hole before climbing the bridge where Manila Water currently doing construction.

According to truck driver Reggie Torres, the hole has no sign so he just drives straight. Because the truck was loaded with cement, the steel plate that covered the hole give up, and the truck fell and overturned after losing its balance.

Based on the report of ABS-CBN News, the back part of the parked truck of the construction site was also damaged when the 18-wheeler crashed. Torres is said to have come from Bulacan and was supposed to deliver cement to Makati.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident. In the initial investigation of Sta. Ana Police, one of the barricades bowed at the construction site so the driver may not have noticed it because it was too small.

According to Donald Abuel, Barangay 892 councilor, they have a lack of warning device and the construction site does not have its own light. As a result, this leads to the accident.

It took more than five hours before the truck was removed from the pit and the westbound lane of the bridge reopened. The Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit will continue its investigation into the incident.
