The Governor of Pampanga air disappointment towards the barangay officials who put barricade in the house of COVID-19 patients.

According to Gov. Pineda, the barangay officials who place the galvanized iron to block and prevent the residents from leaving the two separate houses in the province – one in Guagua and one in Porac, was inhumane.

Ang dapat is tulungan natin sila,” governor said.

The patient’s companion at home in Porac said, barangay officials allegedly went to them when their pregnant relative apparently tested positive for COVID-19. She revealed that before confirming that she was positive, she self-isolated last week because she had close contact with her husband, also a COVID-19 patient.

The barangay councils said they have the permission to put a barricade in front of the house, but what they did was to nailed it right in front of their gate and the whole yard was surrounded by galvanized iron.

“Pumunta dito ‘yung barangay. Nagpaalam po sila na haharangan po ‘yung bahay which is barriers lang po, ‘yung malayo sa gate,” said by the patient’s companion.

They were treated as criminals by barangay officials. When Porac Mayor Jing Capili found out the incident, he immediately ordered to remove the barricade.

The barangay secretary explained that the captain ordered the barangay tanods to place a barricade on the street where the patient’s house was and not the house itself. However, the family of COVID-19 patients is determined to file complaint against the barangay officials.
