Celebrities Urge Pinoys To Register To Vote for 2022 Presidential Elections

2022 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS – Pinoy celebrities urged people to register to vote for the upcoming 2022 Presidential elections

The 2022 Philippine Presidential election is scheduled to be held on Monday, May 9, 2022. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is ineligible for re-election.

Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon proposed a new mode of casting votes. She proposed voting by mail in the national and local elections due to the pandemic.

The voter registration resumed on yesterday, September 1. COMELEC issued an advisory on the procedures. They said the filing of applications will be form Tues-Sat from 8-3pm. People who will register are encourage to download the application form from the agency’s website www.comelec.gov.ph and fill it out.

As the 2022 Presidential election draws near, several celebs took to social media to encourage people – especially the youth – to register to vote for the upcoming elections. Among the stars who pushed young Pinoys to register were Jennylyn Mercado, Saab Magalona, and Jake Ejercito.

Singer Saab Magalona used an adorable video with her son to get the attention of her Twitter followers. She said, “How Vito tells me he wants milk. Also: Don’t forget to register to vote!! Registration starts today. DO IT FOR PANCHO AND VITO AND ALL THE FILIPINO BABIES”

Actor Jake Ejercito highlighted the importance of voter registration. He wrote, “Voter registration na, sinta ko! Specially calling on the 18-35s. Let’s not give the future away. #MagpaRehistroKa.”

Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado, for her part, she wrote: “Responsibilidad natin eto. Register and vote!”
