DUMPING CHEMICALS IN THE RIVER – Two men in the municipality of Tuy, Batangas were arrested for dumping chemicals in the river there.

This came from a Twitter thread from DZMM Teleradyo, which also stated that residents were alarmed of the emergence of bubbles from the said chemicals in a river at Brgy. Sabang and Bayudbud.

The suspects were identified as Mark Anthony Austria and Romano Cabrera. Both are charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 9003, also known as the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act”, and Republic Act No. 6969, also known as the “Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act of 1990.

Recovered from the two suspects were drums containing the said chemical which caused the bubbles in the said river.
