Afterward, the issue got to the point where lawmakers have heard of it. As such, Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) Party-list Rep. Jericho Nograles said lawmakers should impose a punishment for mislabeling on consumer products.

According to an article from ABS-CBN, Nograles said:

It is hard to dismiss this insult as a simple error. The label clearly shows Manila, as a province of China. This incident must be investigated at the very least, and the manufacturer and importer should be blacklisted, as soon as legally permitted

Additionally, the lawmaker asked the Department of Food and Drug Administration to investigate the product with the address labeled as Binondo, Manila as a “province of the People’s Republic of China.”

Norlases asserted that any action to undermine to the sovereignty of the Philippines should be taken seriously. Next, he suggested that if legally justified, the distribution of products from Elegant Fumes Beauty Products Inc should be prohibited.

Meanwhile, netizens who have bought the product also confirmed that the address in fact, listed Manila as a province of China. Here is the proof uploaded to YouTube by netizen, Blue Stacks:
