PAGASA – LPA, Habagat To Affect The Western Part Of The Country This August 20, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, August 20, 2020 (Thursday).

The latest weather update from the state bureau says that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) which was last seen at 30 kilometers north of Daet, Camarines Norte, as well as the southwest monsoon or habagat will affect the western section of the country on this day.

According to GMA News, the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, CALABARZON and Eastern Visayas.

The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate with occasionally heavy rains.

The southwest monsoon or habagat will face cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, Western and Central Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula. Again, the bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate with occasionally heavy rains.

The rest of Mindanao will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, for the wind speed forecast, extreme northern Luzon will face moderate winds that are moving in the east to northeast direction while facing moderate coastal waters.

Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao will face moderate winds that are moving southwestward while facing moderate coastal waters.

The western section of Luzon will face light to moderate winds that are moving in the southwest to south direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will face light to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast to northwest direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
