PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (August 19)

LATEST WEATHER UPDATE – The state weather bureau PAGASA said that the LPA would bring rains over Bicol, parts of Visayas, and Mindanao.

On Wednesday (August 19, 2020), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services released the latest weather updates in the country. A low-pressure area would affect the country’s weather condition.

The low-pressure area was last spotted at 600 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The southwest monsoon would affect the weather condition over the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The LPA would bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, the rest of Visayas and Mindanao. The southwest monsoon would also bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

The localized thunderstorms would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of Luzon.

The weather agency also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides during heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Severe Tropical Storm Higos has already leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 20kph. The weather disturbance is moving 20kph at a west northwest direction.
