Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said that close contacts of workers can immediately be traced if they were confirmmed positive of COVID-19.

“Isang mandatory na sinama natin doon, kung magpapatest ang isang symptomatic, bago pa magpatest, importante po yung magcoordinate agad yung company doon sa LGUs concerned, whether at the barangay level, para po mamonitor agad,”

Lopez added that there must also be coordination with the test results, saying that it is vital that this must be added to DOH’s tally.

“Ganun din sa resulta, kailangan naka-coordinate na. Importante po yun para nasa talaan agad ng DOH [Department of Health]. Kung positive naman yung individual ay makapagumpisa kaagad noong contact tracing,”

Based on the report, the trade department, as well as Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) also issued new work protocols which aims to reduce the risk of transmission inside a workplace.

Private companies, both large and medium, are also urged to offer shuttle services and place isolation facilities for their employees with COVID-19 symptoms.
