DILG Reacts To Rumored PNP Chief Archie Gamboa’s Birthday Party in Baguio

PNP CHIEF ARCHIE GAMBOA – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) reacted to the rumored birthday party for the PNP Chief.

The Philippines is facing a huge challenge now – the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 200 countries and territories across the globe are dealing with the same problem.

In PH, there is now a total of 161,253 cases of coronavirus. According to the Department of Health (DOH), the COVID-19 death toll is at 2,665 now while there is a total of 112,586 recoveries.

Currently, community quarantine measures are up in the country. The wearing of a face mask and social distancing have also became protocols now.

Social gatherings are prohibited amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, there are rumors that a birthday party was held for PNP Chief Archie Gamboa. To this, the DILG reacted.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the DILG put down the rumors that a birthday party was held. According to Interior Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, it was just a dinner that lasted at 9:30 p.m.

Malaya also stressed that Baguio is under a General Community Quarantine thus gatherings are allowed provided there is a limited number. Based on the report, the birthday dinner for PNP Chief Archie Gamboa was held at his cottage at the Navy Base in Baguio.

The Interior Undersecretary said there’s no truth to allegations that there was a party or concert. The said rumors spread on social media.
