Zoren Legaspi shared that they are prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic
Actor-director Zoren Legaspi told his family amid the COVID-19 pandemic that they need not worry because they have prepared for times like this.
Unlike other personalities in the Philippines entertainment industry, Zoren and his wife Carmina Villarroel and their children Mavy and Cassy, do not worry the financial aspect.
Amid the pandemic, many people lose their jobs and that include that people in show business whether one is working in front or behind the camera.
In a recent interview with PEP, Zoren revealed that as a father, he already prepared for the tough times. “Siyempre, bilang padre de familia, hindi mo hihintayin na magkaroon ng pandemic. So whether there’s pandemic or none, dapat palagi kang prepared,” he said.
The 48-year-old actor also said that they saved and invested all their talent fees from their commercials. Apparently, the celebrity couple has been practical when it comes to their finances. “Wala naman kaming planong lumipat sa mga first class na subdivisions or first-class condominiums in order to save money,” Zoren Legaspi said.
His goal is to save and not to spend in order to have a back-up plan if the going gets tough. “E, biglang nagkaroon nitong pandemic. It’s only been five months, so, ayun… like I’ve said, sabi ko kay Mina [Carmina’s nickname], ‘Huwag kang mag-alala, naka-prepare naman tayo diyan,'” he shared.
Carmina echoed this perspective of her husband. “And magtipid… mag-save talaga for the future,” she shared as one of the lessons she learned from the pandemic. The actress also said that she learned not to take for granted that simple joys.
For her, the simple joys are spending time with her family. “My Dad, my siblings, iyong mother-in-law ko, mga kapatid niya, my gosh, hindi kami nagkita! Five months because of the lockdown,” Carmina said.
She also missed those times when she would go out to have her nails and hair done, as well as having facial treatment because this is just the time she would go out as she declared herself as a home buddy.
