The movie Mulan, a live-action adaptation from Disney, will not have its premiere in theaters, and here is the way movie fans can watch this.

Fans of the said movie and the strong female character have been anticipating the release since early this year. Initially, the release was scheduled on March 27, based on the article from NBC News.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was moved to July 24. Later on, it was pushed again August 21. Last month it was postponed indefinitely.

Despite this uncertainties in the dates of the premiere. Disney announced on Tuesday that although the movie will not be shown in theaters, fans can still watch its premiere on Disney+.

Subscribers in the US can watch Mulan on Sept. 4 for $29.99. Meanwhile, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and parts of Western Europe will also be able to stream the movie subscribers can watch the movie on the same date but with varied prices.

Based on the article, in countries where Disney+ is not available, the movie will be released in theaters on the same day as well. The company is facing this situation for the first time. Profit from box office is far way higher than streaming subscriptions.

As of press time, the live-action movie adaption from Disney is the only that the premiere has been moved to the subscription service. For other movies, it is still unclear if this set up will follow if cinemas will remain close for the next months.

It is not also stated if viewers will be able to pay to watch Mulan even without a Disney+ subscription.
