According to Inquirer’s Cebu Daily News, LTFRB-7 Regional Director Eduardo Montealto Jr said that the implementation is put on hold first.

“There was a Memorandum Circular that was issued, 2020-031, on the compulsory wearing of face shield. The implementation is suspended for the meantime”

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board is an attached agency to the Department of Transportation (DoTr).

The DoTr issued a memorandum circular on August 3, which ordered a mandatory wearing of face shields for all passengers in public transport. This is supposed to take effect on August 15.

The Central Office of the LTFRB, however, issued Memorandum Circular no. 2020-031 dated August 1, which ordered the wearing of face shields be mandatory take effective immediately upon its publication.

“It is still okay for now for the passengers not to wear face shields. The implementation of the policy is suspended until further notice by the DOTr”

Based on the report, Cebu Port Authority will be implementing the ‘no-face shield, no-ride’ policy’ on August 15.
