Suspected Illegal Recruiter Caught In Rosario Town, Cavite

SUSPECTED ILLEGAL RECRUITER – A suspected illegal recruiter was recently arrested on Monday in the municipality of Rosario in Cavite.

According to ABS-CBN, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Manila conducted the operation after receiving a complaint from the Commission On Filipinos Overseas regarding an illegal recruitment activity in MGR Worldwide Travel and Tours Agency.

There are those who approached CIDG in Manila to complain against the said agency.

They claimed that the agency offered people to work as a factory worker, production worker and more in New Zealand, South Korea, at Taiwan in exchange for a placement fee of P72,500.

The agency allegedly invite them to apply via social media posts. However, those who applied and paid the placement fee were unable to work in another country as the agency promised.

The Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) also discovered that the said agency did not have a permit to recruit anyone to work abroad.

The illegal recruiter was arrested after accepting the marked money from one of the complainant.

Retrieved from the suspects were 43 passport from various people, some biodatas, and three computer.

Based on the report, the arrested will be charged for large-scale estafa and violation of the Migrant Workers Act.

Authorities are currently looking fot the other officials and employees of the said company.
