PAGASA – Here are the latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA on this day, August 4, 2020 (Tuesday).

The latest weather update from the state weather bureau says that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was last spotted at around 360 kilometers east southeast of Davao City while the effects of the southwest monsoon will be felt in northern Luzon.

According to GMA News, the southwest monsoon or habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Group of Islands.

The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur, especially during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will face partly cloudy skies to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

Based on the report, Tropical Storm Dindo (now known as Typhoon Hagupit) was last spotted at 3 AM at about 810 kilometers north of extreme northern Luzon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 3 AM Tuesday.

It is currently packed with maximum winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center with gusts of up to 180 kilometers per hour.

For the forecast wind speed, the northern and western sections of Luzon will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the southwest to south direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will face moderate winds that are moving in the southeast to south direction while facing moderate coastal waters.

Visayas will face slight to moderate winds that are moving in the east to northeast direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.

Mindanao will face slight to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast to northwest direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
