Jennylyn Mercado made a comment over Cynthia Villar issue but Lolit Solis called her out in a post.
JENNYLYN MERCADO – Lolit Solis defended Cynthia Villar in a post over her controversial remark about medical workers and calle out Jennylyn Mercado for making a comment.
In a previous article, Senator Cynthia Villar has told the medical workers to just do their job as she is not favor to put Metro Manila again under ECQ due to its effects to the economy and businesses. However, in a statement they released following the backlash, the lawmaker clarified that her remark is accordingly not referring particularly to the medical workers.
Several celebrities have reacted to this controversial statement of the senator and one of them is Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado. She said in her comment, “Sen, with all due respect po, you don’t get to comment about the work na ginagawa ng ating medical frontliners until you are able to experience what it’s like to be in their shoes. Sen…Be better because our Heroes Deserve better.”
And in an Instagram post, veteran journalist Lolit Solis, defending the controversial senator, called out the Kapuso actress particularly for making a comment against Villar regarding her insensitive remark. In the post, Solis stressed that the senator has already clarified the comment she made but many people have already come up to something which sparked the online backlash.
She even stressed that the senator will surely not disregard the effort of the medical workers as she is aware of their sacrifices especially in this tough time of the pandemic. The other people just would always give other malicious meaning to it without fully understanding and knowing what she has said.
Solis also called out other celebrities to comprehend the issue they are commenting to and not just do it just to stay relevant. And specifically calling out Mercado, she ended her post with this statement: “Paging Jennylyn Mercado, more than anyone ikaw sana ang una dapat naka intindi. Huwag masyado mahilig sa issue, piliin mo naman.”
