Young Female Student Reselling Churros Earn P90,000 in Just a Month

A young female student has earned P90,000 for selling Churros online during quarantine and while the classes have yet to start.

As the country has been placed to community quarantine, where people’s movements are limited and most livelihoods have been affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), other teenagers are spending their stay at home time on social media

But the 18-year-old Daniella Susana decided to sell churros of Los Churreros Churreria on Facebook and Instagram. Daniella started her business with just P6,000 capital.

As a result, Daniella has earned P90,000 in a span of one month since she started her online business. She said in the interview with PEP, she started her business in the last week of May this year.

“I started selling them in the last week of May this year. I read feedbacks about the brand and its products first.” Then, I sent a message on their Facebook page to inquire. I ordered 100 tubs for my first batch. My capital was around PHP6,000,” she said.

She also said that the funds she used were from her own saving and some are from her parents. She sold “300 to 400 tubs” on her first week and a total of 750 tubs for the entire month.

“The PHP90,000 is actually the total sales. The expenses weren’t subtracted from that yet,” she said. Due to this, Daniella has become one of Los Churreros’ most successful and top-performing partners.

Based on the article, Daniella was a consistent student leader and star pupil before she graduated at St. Paul College of Bocaue. But just like any person new to the industry, she finds it taxing to manage her own business.

Daniella plans to invest her earnings in her degree in Financial Economics and Accountancy at the De La Salle University-Manila as she will be an incoming freshman student. For her, the income is just a bonus compared to the life lessons she has gained.

She also wanted to show young people especially Gen Zers like her to take risks and do something outside of their comfort zones. For Daniella, the skills she acquired while managing her business are stepping stones to becoming a “career woman and CPA (certified public accountant) lawyer” in the future.
