In the photos circulating on social media, you could clearly see there was little to know physical distancing amongst the LSIs. Furthermore, some didn’t even have face masks on. As such, many fear that the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex may become a new hotspot for COVID-19.

Based on a report from CNN, there were forty-eight LSIs have tested positive in the rapid antibody tests. But, these tests are not 100% accurate and those who tested positive would have to undergo confirmatory swab tests for the virus.

Still, with the current situation present in the venue, there would still be a possibility of further infections as testing continues. Yesterday, the total number of LSIs who tested positive in the rapid tests were 20.

The flock of locally stranded individuals came to the sports complex to try and avail of the government’s “Hatid Tulong” program which aimed to transport them back to their home provinces. However, much like the similar “Balik Probinsya” program, the execution was highly criticized.
