Zamboanga Del Norte hit by an earthquake with magnitude 4.8.
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 4.8 magnitude quake in Zamboanga Del Norte, July 30.
A 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental was the strongest hit that the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has ever recorded in the country. With the apparent shaking that happened in the country, a so-called “Big One” is being feared by many people.
And just recently, with 56 kilometers in depth, tectonic in origin, and the location indicated 08.64N, 122.47E – 062 km N 21° W of Liloy (Zamboanga Del Norte), a 4.8 magnitude quake has hit Zamboanga Del Norte. It was recorded in July 30, 2020, Thursday, at 1:17 of the afternoon.
Fortunately, there were no expected damages and aftershocks as per bulletin from the country’s seismology bureau. If a strong jolting has happened, aftershocks and tsunamis are usually released.
