President Duterte To Announce New Quarantine Measures On July 30
NEW QUARANTINE MEASURES – President Duterte is set to announce new quarantine measures on July 30 (Thursday).
According to ABS-CBN News, the said new guidelines is expected to take effect on August 1 (Saturday).
“…It will be the President that will announce it on Thursday, if I am not mistaken. And there’s still appeals to be made by the local government units,”
This was a statement from Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
The Palace said that Metro Manila, which is currently under general community quarantine until the end of July, may revert back to stricter modified enhanced community quarantine if positive cases reach 85,000 by the end of the month.
There are currently 83,673 confirmed cases of COVID-19 nationwide, among therm are 55,109 active cases.
Based on the report, Roque also hinted that there will be “major changes in the government’s COVID-19 pandemmic response next month.
“Let’s just say that things will not be the same, there will be major changes in our response to the pandemic,”
The test, trace, treat strategy is the government’s current response in controlling the transmission of the virus that has infected more than 80,000.
“The people will now see the difference in the response that we will have, it is now thoroughly invigorated, and part of it is we build capacity and we now have the capacity to do what we wanted from the very beginning,”
