According to Manila Bulletin, two women behind the production of fake COVID-19 certificates were also arrested.

They were identified by authorities as Angelica Dellola, aged 20, and Jeshel Mohad, aged 22. Both suspects are residents of Quezon City and are working at TJ Computer Shop in Barangay 177 in Caloocan.

Head of Quezon City Police District- Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Lieutenant Colonel Casimiro Domingo said that the raid was launched after Dr. Kathleen Timogan sought help of the CIDG after learning that her previously issued COVID-19 certificate was used by the printing shop in order to make fake ones.

Timogan found the said illegal activity via a socmed post from a concerned citizen.

“I went to a printing shop. And I saw this guy na pina-scan and pina-photoshopped yung name ng COVID result to another name,”

“Tiningnan ko kung ano yung ginagawa ng babae. Nagtatype po sya, so nakita ko unang una, capslock NEGATIVE, tapos binasa ko COVID [The woman at the printing shop first typed the words NEGATIVE, then COVID),”

The said netizen happened to be in that shop to have her photo printed when she saw the said illegal operation.

The suspects were arrested after a poseur-buyer handed P500 bill to pay for a fake certificate.

Retrieved from the suspects were two computer desktops, printer, Xerox machine, scanner and other printing equipment.

Based on the report, the suspects will be charged for falsification of document and violation of Republic Act 11332 or known as the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
