5 Arrested Including COVID-19 Frontliner in a Drug Den Raid in Cotabato City

COVID-19 FRONTLINER – 5 men arrested after Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided a drug den in Cotabato City, Thursday night.

Based on the report of ABS-CBN News, five men, including a COVID-19 frontliner, were arrested in a drug den after an operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

According to a report from the PDEA-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the suspects were arrested in Purok Bagal, Rosary Height 10. Among those arrested were a COVID-19 frontline worker, a construction worker, and a tricycle driver.

Seized from the operation were 11 packages of suspected illegal drugs worth P149,600. They are currently incarcerated and charged with violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, an IATF ID holder was earlier arrested with P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation conducted in Pangasinan. PDEA is now on alert on drug suspects and drug activities amid the community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
