BuCor Denies Claims High-Profile Inmate Jaybee Sebastian Escaped

JAYBEE SEBASTIAN – The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) denied allegations that drug convict Jaypee Sebastian escaped and still alive.

Following a previous article, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Chief Director General Gerald Bantag confirmed that drug convict Jaybee Sebastian died due to COVID-19. He said the body of the high-profile inmate was immediately cremated.

The 40-year-old inmate was charged alongside Senator Leila De Lima in drug cases. Sebastian pleaded guilty before he died. The virus from China has killed 9 high-profile inmates of the New Bilibid Prison.

Gabriel Chaclag said it was impossible for the BuCor to help the drug convict escape. He assures the public that it’s not true. He said the bureau’s service is true and they follow regulations.

“Rest assured that everything BuCor is doing on its response to COVID-19 ay nasa regulasyon po at aboveboard,” he said.
