Motorist Air Dismay to Gov’t Implementing Motorcycle Barrier After This Happen
Motorist air dismay to the gov’t who implemented the motorcycle barrier to allow motorists back riding amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to implement social distancing due to the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), riding a motorcycle was prohibited. Relatives and even married couples living under the same roof are opposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
Earlier, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año announced July 9, back ride in motorcycles is now allowed for married couples but need to bring marriage contract of any proof. However, aside from personal identifications, the motorist should install a motorcycle barrier or divider between the driver and the back rider.
This is the government implemented to practice social distancing while riding a motorcycle. However, many netizens are criticizing this law, especially to motorcycle riders as it can cause greater injury.
Meanwhile, a Facebook post by a netizen regarding her request to the government to stop the implementation of the motorcycle barrier is now viral. In Dla Crz Eia’s post, she shared the accident that happened with her husband while riding and using a barrier.
According to Eia, they themselves created the barrier because they want to follow the law. She said, she and her husband are excited to go to church in Quiapo because back-riding is finally allowed as long as there is a barrier.
However, there was a problem. While on their way home a biker suddenly stopped in front of them and her husband immediately braked. As a result, they have slipped together from the motorcycle.
Luckily to them, nothing bad happens to them and they only suffer minor injuries but Eia realized how dangerous the barrier was. Her husband can’t stand alone because of the broken barrier that was still tied on his body.
