Bureau of Corrections Officer Found Dead Inside New Bilibid Prison

BUREAU OF CORRECTIONS OFFICER – A Bureau of Corrections officer was recently found dead inside the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

According to Inquirer, BuCor spokesman Colonel Gabriel Chaclag said that the BuCor officer was on duty last night. A roving supervisor, who was making a routine checked noticed that the 29-year-old officer was unresponsive.

“Opo..naka duty siya last night at noong nag check ang roving supervisor ay napansin niya unresponsive yung bata (Corrections officer).”

The supervisor also noticed that there is a gunshot wound to the right temple of the fatality’s head, Chaclag added.

“May gunshot wound sa right temple,”

Based on the report, investigators are currently probing to determine whether or not there was a foul play in the death of the said officer.

Chaclag did not disclose the identity of the said officer for security reasons.

In an entirely separate report concerning officers, 15 police officers from the city of Quezon were relieved from duty due to the escape of six Chinese Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

The said six officers may also be facing charges over the incident where the said Chinese PDLs were able to escape from jail.

They were also probed for possible “evasion through negligence” violation under the Revised Penal Code.
