COVID-19 Cash Aid Recipient In Lucena City Arrested Over Drugs

COVID-19 CASH AID RECIPIENT – A suspected drug pusher, identified as a COVID-19 cash aid recipient was recently nabbed in :Lucena City on Tuesday.

According to Inquirer, Lucena City police chief Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea identified the suspect as Christian Camposano, aged 28.

He was arrested by anti-drug operatives after he sold a pack of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) to a poseur-buyer in Barangay Ibabang Iyam at around 10:35 AM on Tuesday.

Also retrieved from the suspect were seven plastic sachets of the said illegal drugs. Camposano was also a former drug convict and is still on the police drug watch list.

Based on the report, it also turned out that he was also a cash aid recipient of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP), which was meant for persons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The SAP was also designed to aid daily wage earners and the poor to survive the lockdown imposed by the government in order to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this month, a teenager from Pasig City was also arrested on Sunday night by operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency or PDEA at the corner of Urbano Street and Velasco Avenue in Barangay Pinagbuhatan on Sunday evening.

Retrieved from the teenager were 300 grams of crystal meth (shabu), which is worth at around P2.4 million.
