Atom Araullo Questions New Back-Riding Rules, Netizens Reacts
ATOM ARAULLO – The Kapuso anchor, Atom Araullo questions why the new guidelines for back-riding were imposed in the first place.
Based on the new rules established by the COVID Taskforce, only married couples and live-in partners are allowed to back-ride. Moreover, only motorcycles with barriers between the rider and the passenger are allowed to travel.

However, to thousands of people, this makes no sense whatsoever, among these people was Atom Araullo. He re-tweeted a report from Jun Veneracion showing an elderly couple being apprehended by authorities for failing to install a “protective shield” between them.
In his re-tweet, Aurallo stated:
Can someone please explain what a protective shield will accomplish for spouses riding a motorcycle together? I mean, they probably have more intimate time than a bike ride.
Afterward, netizens shared their own opinions about the new guidelines with one saying that it was only imposed for “face value”.
Another wittingly said: “it accomplishes NOTHING. sa bahay magka tabi naman matulog diba? Para may masabing ginagawa. Sa Angkas, ok may merit pa kasi strangers. But for families, NONSENSE!!“
Furthermore, people who are living within the same home such as siblings, cousins, or in-laws, are also not allowed in the new guidelines. Recently, four riders were arrested by the police because of this reason.
