SOUTH COTABATO MAYOR – Santo Niño Mayor Pablo Matinong Jr. was shot by still unidentified persons during an infrastructure site visit.

Undeniably, several politicians in the past have lost their lives to unexpected attacks. Some cases were already resolved and the ones responsible are already in jail.

However, there are still pending cases leaving families grieving and calling for justice. Noticeably, most attacks were lodged by suspects riding in a motorcycle and doing their motive at a very unexpected place and time.

Recently, another mayor became the subject of this kind of incident. He is Mayor Pablo Matinong Jr.

Based on a recent news report in ABS-CBN News, Santo Niño Mayor Pablo Matinong Jr. was shot during an infrastructure site visit in Purok Libertad, Barangay Poblacion. The South Cotabato Mayor had no security escort with him when the incident took place.

The initial report showed that the suspects were aboard a motorcycle and approached the Mayor when he was at the site. According to the report, the politician was brought to a clinic but he was found dead on arrival.

Currently, the police authorities are still investigating the incident and there are still no further information about it. More updates may be posted soon.
