Employer Earn Criticisms Online For Forcibly Evicting an Elderly Helper Amid Crisis

Video footage of an inconsiderate employer forcibly evicting an elderly woman helper amid public health crisis goes viral and elicited reactions online.

Over the past few weeks, numerous Filipino people are already expressing their sentiments after their jobs and livelihoods have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Many of our countrymen only rely on the government’s help.

President Rodrigo Duterte previously said that landlady or landlords should be considerate and understand the crisis right now. He warned that if they will force to evict the boarders, owners will face charges.

Meanwhile, a video footage uploaded by a concerned netizen named Fe Mari Gaviola Ronquillo, where the owner of the house was forcing an elderly owman to leave despite the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In the video, a poor elderly woman was fixing the things that the owner thrown outside. The owner and the elderly woman seems having a heated conversation, as it can be heared on the video.

The concerned netizen filmed the situation as he aims to upload it on social media to seek help. Few minutes later, the owner came out of the gate and throw other items owned by the elderly woman.

Based on the voice of the uploader, the old woman allegedly works for them as a house helper for a long time. The uploader went raging and shouted at the owner as he feels pity for the elderly.

The video has gone viral on social media and various reactions from the online community. Some netizens express anger and condemned the owner, while others feel bad the poor elderly.
