Son Ye Jin, ‘Crash Landing on You’ Star To Have Her 1st Hollywood Film?
SON YE JIN – Son Ye Jin, who is the star of “Crash Landing on You”, will have her first ever Hollywood film.
According to ABS-CBN’s PUSH, Ye Jin has been contacted to appear in an upcoming film entitled “Cross”, which casts Australian actor Sam Worthington.
Worthington is known for his roles in films such as “Avatar” and “Clash of the Titans”, among others.
The 38-year-old star will play the role of Vera, a tough woman who resides near the border of the impoverished nation. Vera raises her son on her own as a single mother after her husband dies during an attempt to escape across the border.
As for Worthington, he will play a man who lives in the wealthy part of the nation.
Based on the report, the film will be directed by Andrew Niccol, an award-winning filmmaker who is known for his work in films such as “The Host,” and Gattaca,” among others.
Niccol was interested in filming the movie in Korea and collaborate with Korean actors after visiting the nation last year for inspiration. This was allegedly due to the nation’s current status as the only divided nation in the world.
The filmmaker also personally reached out to the actress in hopes of casting her for the film, which is set to film in Korea in March 2021.
In Crash Landing On You, Ye Jin plays Yoon Se-ri, a South Korean conglomerate heiress who ended up in North Korea after a tornado blew her off course.
There she meets a North Korean soldier named Ri Jeong-hyeok (played by Hyun Bin) who sheltered her and helped her return to South Korea.
