MYMP member Chin Alcantara has this revelation against ABS-CBN
“Na-Daryl Ong din kami,” this is what MYMYP member Chin Alcantara said against ABS-CBN in his YouTube vlog.
The musician published the said vlog on the official YT Channel of MYMP on June 25 with the title “MYMP na-Daryl Ong din ng ABS-CBN”.
To recall, singer Daryl Ong revealed through his vlog also that he and fellow singer Bugoy Drilon were banned from appearing on Kapamilya shows because of their conversation about the franchise issue.
Many sympathize with the singer including his fellow artist Bryan Termulo who said that he can relate to that situation and Jobert Sucaldito who supported the said revelation. On the other hand, there were also those who criticized Daryl and a vlog was published to discredit his claim against the TV giant.
Chin Alcantara, who was working with Kapamilya singer Juris during their MYMP days, claimed that the scenario that happened to Daryl happened to them also.
He said in the vlog that it all happened 10 years ago when Juris was launched as a solo singer. Although MYMP was launched on ASAP with the new vocalist, there engagement in the Kapamilya network was not followed after that.
“Yun na yung huling labas namin sa ASAP,” he said. According to Chin, the production staff and handlers of the musical variety show who are close to him talk to them. “Chin, sorry wala na kaming magagawa, pinatawag kami sa taas,” he related what the staff told them.
He added that the meaning of that was the production staff had a meeting with the “boss” and they were banned from appearing on ASAP. Apparently, the band was clueless about why it was done to them.
With this, MYMP requested to Star Records to just let go of them so that they can find other record labels that will handle them. On the other hand, Juris was able to do an album even though the Star Records contract included MYMP. Apparently, the band’s career was left behind.
Chin said that they haven’t fight for this matte because they know the power of the network. However, this issue resurfaced because MOR, the FM radio station affiliated to ABS-CBN canceled the recent guesting that MYMP has supposed to do an hour before the show.
Aside from this, Chin said that the video of their iWant ASAP video was deleted which was not done to other videos. The MYMP member also said that their MOR guesting was canceled because they were told that ABS-CBN has an issue with him.
