Doctor In Antique Hospital Tested Positive for COVID-19

ANTIQUE HOSPITAL – The Barbaza District Hospital is under a lockdown after a doctor tested positive for COVID-19.

The Philippines is on a fight against the COVID-19 pandemic now. This disease has placed millions of lives at risk and has claimed more than 500,000 lives already.

In the Philippines, the total COVID-19 cases recorded in the country now is 37,514 with 1,266 deaths and 10,233 recoveries. The whole nation is under a community quarantine now.

It is now a protocol that everyone must wear a face mask when going outdoors. Also, social distancing must always be observed to prevent the spread of the infection.

Doctors and nurses are the ones most at risk of contracting COVID-19. Recently, an Antique hospital was placed under a lockdown after one of its doctors tested positive for COVID-19.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Governor Rhodora Cadiao expressed that it was last June 22 when the doctor in Barbaza District Hospital started experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 specifically sore throat. A swab test was then conducted right away.

According to the Antique Governor, the doctor is in a stable condition. The patient is currently in an isolation facility and the contact tracing is ongoing.

Based on the report, Cadiao also added that the said Antique hospital that is now under a temporary lockdown won’t be accepting patients and all the staff will be under quarantine.

Around 70 healthcare workers in the hospital have to undergo swab testing. Meanwhile, the Governor reminded the public that COVID-19 in their province is under control and discrimination must not be done.
