Woman Who Tested Positive for COVID-19 in Davao City Has Came To Birthday Party, Burial

WOMAN – A 29-year-old patient of COVID-19 in Davao City has attended a birthday party and came to a burial prior to her testing positive for the disease.

The COVID-19 disease is putting thousands of lives at risk now. Across the globe, over ten (10) million cases of the disease were recorded with more than 500,000 deaths. Around 5.6 million patients have recovered from the disease.

Philippines is one of the countries with COVID-19 cases. There is now a total of 36,438 cases of the disease recorded in the country with 1,255 deaths and 9,956 recoveries.

The entire Philippines now is under a community quarantine. The wearing of face mask and the practice of social distancing are also the protocols to curb the spread of the disease.

Social gatherings are prohibited nowadays considering the speed on how the disease can infect people. Recently, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte aired a reminder about it after a 29-year-old female who came to gatherings tested positive for the disease.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the woman who is working as a house helper in Sasa, Davao City went home to Barangay Dalagdag last June 20. She attended a birthday party.

Dr. Jojit Marbas of Calinan District Doctor said that a lot of people came to the party. It was a huge celebration with lechon. After it, the next day, the patient went to a burial.

Based on the report, last June 22, that was when the woman who attended a birthday party and a burial in Davao City started experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. She’s suffering from fever and cough.

Mayor Duterte-Carpio called the public to avoid inviting other people when there is a celebration at home. She clarified that it is okay to celebrate but preferably with the people inside the household only.
