According to Unang Hirit, the seafarers are left stranded inside a Chinese fishing vessel in the middle of the ocean. To get by, the crew said they need to filter out seawater so they could have something to drink.

However, they said that their water already had rust. The crew had been using an improvised filtration system using 1.5 Liter coke plastic bottles. Additionally, after filtering the water, they said they also boil it to get rid of other impurities.
