2017 Bar topnotcher came out as gay on Eat Bulaga‘s Bawal Judgmental
On June 25 episode of Eat Bulaga‘s Bawal Judgmental, this 2017 bar topnotcher came out as gay on national TV.
The longest-running noontime show is known for conceptualizing segments that would feature ordinary people. On Thursday, the said segment once again topped the Twitter trend.
It featured members of the LGBTQ community which is timely for Pride Month and the guest contestant was actress Yayo Aguila. The question was who among the choices graduated as cum Claude.
One of the participants was Klinton Torralba but Yayo did not choose him. During the interview, he revealed that he graduated cum laude in two degrees from the University of Santo Tomas. He was also the Top 9 bar taker in 2017.
Klinton also revealed that his parents did not know that he would be participating in Bawal Judgemental. “Actually, before the show started, I’m still anxious about it. And now, it’s not really coming out because, for me, as you can see, it’s so obvious, I am part of the LGBT community. To my mind, it’s so obvious.” he said.
However, Klinton said that this was never a topic in their traditional family and because they are living in the province.
“I guess, they were not ready and I was not ready. But until like nights ago, when this opportunity was given to me, sabi ko, ‘Parang puwede. Why not confirm it on a national TV?’” he added.
When asked to give his message for his parents, Klinton said that he promised not to cry but he went emotional.
“But Mama and Papa, everything that I did have always been for you, both of you, especially for our family. And I’m sure, you noticed that I’m behaving differently, because there’s a burden in my heart and I cannot express myself, and there are a lot of responsibilities on top of that,” the bar topnotcher said.
He also said that he needs to unburden himself with the positive thought that his family would accept him. Klinton also promised to continue making his parents proud.
“Sure ako na bilang abogado, alam niyong palaging ipinaglalaban ko ang iba. Pero sa pagkakataong ito, sana hayaan niyo naman na ipaglaban ko ang sarili ko,” he said.
Then, Bawal Judgmental host Paolo Ballesteros said, “I’m sure, very proud sila sa ‘yo dahil wala naman ‘yan sa pagkatao. Kailangan, mabuting tao.”
