Girl in Zamboanga City Confirmed Positive for COVID-19 Amid Pandemic

GIRL – A 10-year-old child in Zamboanga City tested positive for coronavirus or COVID-19 disease amid the global pandemic.

The Philippines is one of the countries affected by COVID-19 pandemic. This coronavirus disease has claimed over 400,000 lives in different countries already.

Initially recorded in China last December 2019, the said disease is characterized by flu-like symptoms. A patient may experience fever, cough, and breathing difficulties.

However, this coronavirus is novel thus not everything about it is known now. In fact, a person may be positive for COVID-19 despite showing no symptoms of the disease.

In the Philippines, Zamboanga City is one of the cities with confirmed cases of COVID-19. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, there is now a total of 195 new cases of coronavirus in the city.

Two (2) COVID-19 cases were recently recorded in Zamboanga City. According to the report, one (1) of the patients is a 10-year-old girl who arrived in the city last May 31.

The said girl who tested positive for COVID-19 is one of those who arrived in Zamboanga City through a “sweeper flight”. She was stranded in Cebu City.

Currently, the child is showing no symptoms of the disease. She is confined at the ADZU-Lantaka Isolation Facility. The other new patient of coronavirus in the city is a dialysis patient from Upper Calarian.

Reportedly, the said patient is currently confined at the Zamboanga City Medical Center. Her sister also tested positive for coronavirus.
