PepsiCo China Temporarily Closes After COVID-19 Case Confirmed

PEPSICO – On Sunday, PepsiCo China said the operation at one of their food processing factory in Beijing closes after COVID-19 infection was found.

The 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed the world of work and school. Around half of the world’s population are currently staying in their houses in an attempt to stop the spread of the deadly virus from Wuhan City, China.

COVID-19 has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and sparked fears. Some people are now having problems with their mental and physical well-being.

Researchers and scientists around the world are racing to develop a vaccine for COVID-19. Health experts are doing their best to track down the infected and anyone they had close contact with.

If a farm or food facility has an employee who tested positive for COVID-19, closing businesses temporarily will be the right thing to do to.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, PepsiCo China announced that they are going to suspend the operation of their processing plant in Beijing after at least one of it its workers tested positive for COVID-19.

The company’s director of corporate affairs, Fan Zhimin, said the production factory in Daxing district was stopped on June 15. The senior official of the city’s disease control authority, Pang Xinghuo, revealed eight employees tested positive for coronavirus.

PepsiCo also owned Lay’s potato chips. According to the report, the company said on its blog that the food plant produced a small quantity of Lays. They said any virus has a very low chance of surviving during the food processing.

On June 11, Beijing reported its first case in the latest coronavirus outbreak in the city.
