Isko Moreno shared what was his first showbiz stint
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, who was first known as an actor, revealed the amount of his first talent fee and what his role was.
It is a common knowledge among showbiz enthusiasts that the actor-turned-politician started his career in the entertainment industry with humble beginnings.
During his recent guesting on Magandang Buhay, Yorme Isko shared how he was discovered by a talent scout when he was at a wake. From that, he became part of That’s Entertainment under the late German Moreno.
In the Kapamilya morning show, he also recalled his first role. “Nag-doorbell ako. Ang call time ko, alas-9; alas-8, nandoon na ako. Hindi ako nakuhanan. Alas-12, chicha, tanghalian na, eh,” the Manila Mayor shared.

He also said that he was able to have five meals that day while waiting for his scene. The mayor said that he was just waiting inside the air-conditioned room.
“Kinunan ako, alas-4 ng umaga. Para pumindot lang ng doorbell at hanapin si Eric Fructuoso. Siya ‘yung main cast, eh. Pagpindot ko ng ganyan, P1,500 (talent fee),” Isko Moreno said.
The actor-turned-politician added that when he was driving a pedicab, he can earn P50 a day and he will get P1,500 for 30 days of working under the heat of the sun or pouring rain.
“Kailangan makapag-boundary ako o kaya maka-P50 ako eh, di P1,500 ‘yon 30 days. Ito nakaniyangga ka lang, may aircon pa. Sabi okay ito na trabaho ‘to,” he added.
With that, the Mayor took the opportunity to improve his life when it comes to the financial aspect. He is thankful for the chance he got the entertainment industry and to the people who helped him.
“Pinagpapasalamat ko sa Diyos, o kay Kuya Germs, kay Daddy Wowee (Roxas, his manager), o higit sa lahat sa Diyos, na ang sarap ng trabahong ito,” the Manila Mayor said.
