NCMH Gives Update on COVID-19 Patients in Facility

NCMH – The National Center for Mental Health confirmed that all its staff and patients are now free from coronavirus or COVID-19.

The Philippines is one of the countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the whole nation is under a community quarantine to prevent the spread of the disease which has already claimed over 400,000 lives across the globe.

Cebu City was placed to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) again while several places including Metro Manila remained under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Most parts of the country are under an MGCQ.

Currently, the total recorded cases of coronavirus in the Philippines is 27,238. According to the Department of Health (DOH), out of the total number, 1,108 patients died of COVID-19 while the recoveries is at 6,820 now.

Most hospital and health facilities in the country now have cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the recoveries are giving hope that surviving this disease is really possible.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) located in Mandaluyong which previously have COVID-19 cases is now free from the disease.

NCMH Chief Dr. Roland Cortez confirmed that its 3,200 patients and 2,435 staff are free from coronavirus. Based on the report, previously, 86 of the facility’s employees and 41 patients were positive for COVID-19.

Seven (7) patients died of coronavirus. With regards to the staff, all of them have recovered from the disease.
