Five Suspected NPA Rebels Killed In Mabinay, Negros Oriental

FIVE SUSPECTED NPA REBELS – Five suspected NPA rebels were killed in an encounter in the municipality of Mabinay, Negros Oriental.

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the Philippine Army reported that they received information from a resident in Sitio Talingting, Barangay Luyang that a wanted man was with a grouup of armed men in two houses in tbe area.

As the said suspects were approached by authorities who carried a warrant of arrest, a gunfight ensued. this lead to the death of 5 suspects, among them were Sayas Ribilista who has an arrest warrant.

Retrieved from the suspects were 3 M16 rifles, onew AK-47, one caliber 45 pistol, some magazines, 4 rifle grenades, one improvised explosive, ammo and subversive documents of high-intelligence value.

Based on the report, last year, authorities linked the NPA with an incident involving the torture and slaying of four policemen, an attorney and his wife, and some residents in the eastern province of Negros.
