Bar Passers Must Go Through COVID-19 Rapid Test Before Signing of Roll of Attorneys

BAR PASSERS – The successful examinees of the BAR Exam 2019 are required to undergo a COVID-19 rapid test before the roll signing.

The Philippines is one of the over 200 countries and territories with cases of COVID-19, a coronavirus disease that was first recorded in China last December 2019. This disease is now a pandemic as it has spread across the globe.

Around the world, over 8.4 million people were infected by the disease. More than 450,000 people died of it while the total recoveries now is at 4.4 million.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 27,238 cases of COVID-19. The total deaths is at 1,108 now while 6,820 patients have recovered from the disease.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected almost everything. The most-awaited BAR exam results were released amid the crisis and the successful examinees will soon sign the roll of attorneys but there are changes.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Supreme Court said that the Bar passers will have to undergo a COVID-19 rapid test before the roll signing. The passer will be screened by a doctor before he or she will be allowed to enter the premises of the Court.

According to the report, the roll signing of the Bar passers of last year’s exam will be held from July 6 to August 3. Through their email, the 2,103 passers will be sent a link where they will be given options on the date of their roll signing.

With regards to the attire, the formal attire will still be observed and the passers must wear a face mask or face shield. The new lawyers are also told to come at least one (1) hour before their schedule.
