Some young children are selling noodles and other products just to help their parents after losing their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Facebook page “Love N Care” has shared the photos of young children selling noodles and other staff just to help their parents after losing jobs due to the health crisis. The pictures garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the photos, it can be seen that the siblings are selling dried noodles, practice books, and other items at the sidewalk of Prima Setapak in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The four kids are trying to earn money to help their parents.
The children are patiently waiting customers at the sidewalk for a couple of hours. The kids are selling until late in the afternoon or even until evening. Their parents lost their jobs due to the movement control order with the aim to contain the spread of coronavirus disease.
The siblings were also studying while selling the goods, which captured the hearts of some passersby. However, some netizens expressed their concern towards the children’s safety.
The social media users expressed their reactions to the post:
“Sad to see the children selling things to help parents. Children are not supposed to do such act. It may amounts to child labour. Especially MCO period children should not be in street. Children must be protected. Where are the parents? Parents should be doing the job.”
“please help me buy from them if you pass by ya !”
“can you help them out then can tapao claypot lou xu fen on your way back.”
“Do you have their contact how we can reach out or help them?”
