Frankie Pangilinan called out the elders to respect and to be open to the opinions of youths regarding the issue currently happening in the Philippines.

The daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Frankie ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan called out the attention of elders and seniors saying “I do respect my elders, but respecting my elders doesn’t always be agreeing with them.”

“I believe that older generations should also afford Gen Z a certain amount of respect,” she said on the statement posted by the ABS-CBN Facebook page. She also added that youths are now educated enough and more aware of the current issues.

“Now that we’re stepping up to be informed and educated and generally more vocal about these issues, I don’t think we deserve to be invalidated and shut down for such efforts,” Frankie added.

This statement came after the veteran journalist, Ben Tulfo’s controversial statement about women and harassment culture, where Frankie Pangilinan reacted. After Frankie’s tweet, Ben Tulfo also responded to Frankie calling her “hija”.

Ben Tulfo called Franki Pangilinan’s attention. He emphasized that a woman’s dress encourages the possibility of harassment. However, Frankie opposed the point of Ben saying harassment occurs not based on the outfit worn, adding that women’s outfit is not an invitation to be harassed.
