World Will End June 21 – Mayan Calander Still In 2012 Says Theorist

Conspiracy Theorist Say World Will End June 21

MAYAN CALENDAR WAS WRONG? – As the world still faces the coronavirus pandemic, a conspiracy theorist claims the world will end on June 21.

Around 10 years ago, people believed that an ancient Mayan calendar predicted the world’s end to be on 2012. There were also scriptures from the ancient Greek prophets that supported this.

However, a conspiracy theorist said the Mayan Doomsday calendar was wrong – or rather, how we interpreted it was wrong. Here’s the reason why.

According to an article from Mirror, the conspiracy theorist explained that the Gregorian Calendar (the system we’re using now) took out 11 days from the year. The world started to use the new calendar system in 1582 to better map out Earth’s orbit around the sun.

But, these 11 years seemed to add up over the past 286 years. As such, theorist claimed that if we still based our calendar to the Mayan, we would still be in 2012.

In a now-deleted post, scientist Paolo Tagaloguin said:

Following the Julian Calendar, we are technically in 2012.

The number of days lost in a year due to the shift into Gregorian Calendar is 11 days. For 268 years using the Gregorian Calendar (1752-2020) times 11 days = 2,948 days. 2,948 days / 365 days (per year) = 8 years

With this in mind, the theory would now place the date June 21, 2020 as “December 21, 2012” – the prophesied date of the end of the world.

However, some netizens believe this to be fake as the Mayan Calendar and the Gregorian do not share similar systems and could not be compared to one another.
