G Tongi shared her thoughts about her past men’s magazine covers
Actress G Tongi shared the reason behind her decision to pose for a men’s magazine in the past.
G is one of the popular stars during the late 90s up to early 2000s. However, her “pa-tweetum” roles evolved to daring, especially when she posed for a men’s magazine back in 2001. She also had a daring magazine cover in 2012.
During the recent episode of online talk show Just In hosted by Vaness del Moral, G recalled that part of her showbiz life. The host showed two of the actress from her magazine cover shoot.

“The first one when I was still a teenager, the second was taken I was already a mother. There’s so much that has changed from then to now,” she shared.
Then, she recalled what she was thinking while posing in front of the camera. “Magazines are meant to sell you something, right? When I look at those photos, I don’t want to look at myself as objectifying myself, but it is time in my life where I chose to show off my sexuality or my sensuality,” G Tongi said.
She added that women and, specifically Filipina are repressed not to show their desire. By doing the magazine covers, G said that it made her feel that she is an empowered woman.
“I do it for myself because it’s empowering that I know who I am and that I embrace my sensuality,” the mother of two said.
Meanwhile, the actress shared how thankful she is to actor-director Eric Quizon who gave her the opportunity to enter the world of showbiz. Prior to her stints on TV and movies, G Tongi was already doing several TV commercials and modeling stints.
