ANGEL LOCSIN – Arrested 72-year-old Elmer Cordero expressed gratitude for actress Angel Locsin for all her help while he was still detained.
The elderly jeepney driver Elmer Cordero was among the arrested drivers after they have reportedly violated general community quarantine (GCQ) protocols. They protested and were put in jail for a week before they got bailed out.
Aside from Cordero, the other drivers were Severino Ramos, Arsenio Ymas, Wilson Ramilla, Ramon Paloma, and Ruben Balyon. They were arrested by the Northern Police District on June 2. They were accordingly not following the social distancing protocol and have resisted authorities.
He just got recently freed after bailing out. And staying there for several days in fear that he would catch the virus in such crowded area has broken lots of hearts. Critics cited this is unfair after an official celebrated his birthday but was neglected and not arrested. The official was “forgiven” and was able to get away after violating the laws they are enforcing.
On the go always, Angel Locsin along with Kapamilya actress Bea Alonzo through the latter’s non-profit organization I AM HOPE, they were able to reach Lolo Elmer and help him while he was still behind bars. They have sent him health kit essentials like face masks, alcohol, vitamins, and among others.
“Maraming salamat Angel Locsin sa lahat ng itinutulong mo sa aming suporta sa loob ng kulungan pati ‘yung gamot tsaka alcohol. Lahat kumpleto, lahat ng mga tulong mo, maraming maraming salamat,” says Lolo Elmer in a video posted online.
