Sotto Lambasts Duterte Critics Seeking Veto, Warns Them To “Watch Out”

SOTTO LAMBASTS CRITICS – The controversial “Anti-Terror” bill had been heavily campaigned against by activists in the recent weeks.

According to them, the bill that aims to dent the threat of terrorism in the country could be used specifically against critics. Moreover, activists fear that the passing of the bill may silence the masses in voicing out against the government.

However, defenders of the bill emphasized that it would not affect freedom of speech. As such, Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Wednesday hit critics of Duterte calling for a veto of the bill.

Based on an article from ABS-CBN, Sotto stated:

Ganun ganun na lang kung murahin nila si PRRD (President Rodrigo Roa Duterte), ngayon nananawagan sila sa kanya?

(They curse (PRRD) President Rodrigo Roa Duterte just like that, now, they are appealing to him?)

Following this, Sotto emphasized how respect is an important aspect of a person’s personality. He noted that whatever you give to others would return to you – with profit.

Afterward, he highlighted that this also applies to disrespect. Then, without naming any particular group or individuals, he warned “Watch Out!”.

Sotto also mocked those who opposed the Anti-Terror bill. He highlighted what he sees as critics attacking the implementation of the measure that has yet to be signed as a law.
