The morning forecast from the state weather bureau says that a low pressure area (LPA) was last spotted at around 75 kilometers east of the city of Borongan eastern Samar.

According to GMA News, it is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ, which is currently affecting Visayas and Palawan, while the southwesterly windflow (SWWF) will affect Mindanao.

The LPA and ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Marinduque, Romblon, Bicol Region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Central and Eastern Visayas. Flash floods or landslides might occur especially during severe thunderstorms.

The southwesterly windflow will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Western Visayas and the rest of Mindanao. Again, flash floods or landslides might occur especially during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. As always, flash floods or landslides might occur especially during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, for the wind speed forecast, Bicol Region and eastern Visayas will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast to northwest direction.

Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will have light to moderate winds that are moving southwestward.

Palawan will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the southwest to southeast direction. Lastly, the rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast to east direction. The entire archipelago will face slight to moderate coastal waters.
