Claudine Barretto to sue Raymart Santiago

Optimum Star Claudine Barretto is planning to file a case against her ex-husband Raymart Santiago again.

Claudine and Raymart’s separation is one of the most controversial celebrity breakups in the Philippines. It is because they had much-talked-about legal battles after they ended their relationship.

Back in 2013, the actress asked the court to file temporary protection order to prevent the actor from going near their children and even communicating with them. In a recent article by Jun Lalin in Abante, Claudine’s lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio revealed that the actress has consulted him regarding legal matters.

When asked with the perception that the ex-couple are now friends with each other, the lawyer said, “I don’t think they’re exactly friends. In fact, we’ll be suing Raymart.” According to Atty. Topacio, the case against the actor will be “Economic Abuse under VAWC Act. ”

In article published on the site of abogado.com.ph, it was stated that Raymart Santiago allegedly failed to provide P100,000 monthly for his kids, Sabina and Santino, with Claudine Barretto.

The actress’s lawyer said that the aforementioned amount has been approved by the two parties but the actor failed to do his responsibility to their children when it comes to financial support.

Atty. Topacio urged Raymart to fulfill his duty as a father to Sabina and Santino to avoid another legal battle, based on the article.

“Ang akin lang naman ay tumupad lang sana doon sa usapan, sapagkat ang pupuntahan naman ng pera ay hindi naman kung sinong tao kundi ‘yung kaniya rin namang mga anak kay Claudine. So kailangang-kailangan ng suporta ngayon ng mga bata lalong-lalo na sa panahong ito na walang masyadong project si Ms. Claudine Barretto,” the lawyer said.
