Vice Ganda Speaks On DJ Loonyo “Mass Testing” Comment On Livestream
VICE GANDA ON DJ LOONYO – DJ Loonyo received harsh backlash following his “mass testing” statement during a livestream with a local artist.
Loonyo explained that people should not undergo mass testing because:
I don’t know kung ano ang gagamitin nila sa mass testing . Pero kung ano-ano ang ipapainom nila, ipapagawa nila. It’s a trial and error. That’s why it’s mass testing.
In his defense, Loonyo explained that he simply confused mass testing with “clinical trials”. However, netizens believe that due to his influence, his statement might harm his followers.
Following this, Kapamilya star, Vice Ganda, wanted to get to the bottom of his statement. So, he asked her sister, Dr. Tina Viceral to clarify some of the misconceptions of the COVID-19 tests.
Vice asked his sister if people need to drink anything before doing a test – his sister said no. Then, she explained that all that needs to be done is swabbing samples from the nose and oral cavity. However, Dr. Viceral said the results could take a few days.
Afterward, Vice asked his sister if doing testing for COVID-19 is safe. His sister said:
Oh yes Toy, super safe magpa test wala naman side effect or whatever chuva dahil swabiing lang naman or prick ang gagawin to test a patient. Dapat perfect score mo sa exam ha!
Meanwhile, according to Kapamilya World Online, Vice posted the conversation not to bash DJ Loonyo, but to correct the misconceptions about the coronavirus tests.
