Mom & Son Used Savings From ‘Alkansya’ to Survive Quarantine Period
A certain mom and son survived the quarantine period using the cash they saved in ‘alkansya’ after not receiving SAP cash aid.
A lot of Filipino people rely on government’s financial assistance after some of them lose their livelihoods due to the coronavirus-related lockdown. Unfortunately, some of our countrymen failed to receive cash aid due to certain reason.
A Facebook user named Wyn Cortes has shared the story of a woman and its son who survived the quarantine period using their savings from ‘alkansya’. The post earns comments from social media users.
Cortes said that Marian Guiang and her 11-year-old son used their savings to buy basic necessities and food supplies during the enhance community quarantine. Guiang did not receive the social amelioration cash aid.
However, the thrifty mom was able to receive relief goods from the local government units but it was not enough for their daily consumption. So she decided to open her alkansya and use it to buy food supplies.

January 2020 raw nang magsimula silang mag-ipon. Wala silang nakukuhang ayuda mula sa gobyerno maliban sa relief goods kaya nagdesisyon silang buksan na ang kanilang ipon.
Umabot sa 12,000 ang naipon ng mag-ina.”
